This concept car was something I found on another forum. I can see this Cougar being made from a Mustang with more luxary features and interior appointments. Maybe throw some shiney 20" wheels, chrome everywhere in the interior and some other items to compete with Cadillac coupes. A big Ecoboost engine would be nice as well. Its time for another personal luxary coupe, hopefully Ford will listen to people who would like to see this.
Too bad Mercury may not be around much longer.
i sure would
ReplyDeleteyes it would be the good one car and it will like by the car users.

I would love to see this car produced, maybe with the full width sequential rear blinkers like the ones my '70 had. A long hood/short deck layout, maybe with a formal roofline to depart from the hatchback wanna be CTS coupe, and to keep its late 80's image (but not quite as square, just not hatchback looking
ReplyDeleteThey need to bring back the real RWD Cougar... not that GAYASS fwd Probe/Eclipse wannabe, girly Cougar of 99-02. That car was a friggin JOKE. No wonder they discontinued the Cougar.
ReplyDeleteyea. i got a 67. its the shizz i like it way better than the new cougar.
ReplyDeleteYeah but that joke out handled the eclipse, it just needed the 3.0 svt motor. Had RX-7 suspension componets from when ford own part of mazada. Wouldn't want it if was just a mustang remake...make me sick. thing handles like a bus.
ReplyDeleteneeds to be awd with that new ecoboost twin turbo..then the would have something
ReplyDeleteNot only would Ford sell a ton of the Cougars, the Lincoln dealers would have something that could draw more customers especially in this anemic econony. I have 1 2011 V6 Mustang and 1 2008 Mustang CS GT as well as two 2010 F150s and I would definitely buy a Cougar XR7 if Ford would only build it! I like the idea of the twin turbo 3.5 or 3.7 engine as well.
ReplyDeleteOh.. add the independent suspension on the Cougar as well. That would give it the edge (slight) on handling/cornering over the Mustang. Sunroof/moonroof would also help since Mustang does not offer that. If only Ford would listen to the people! Build it please!
ReplyDeleteIf Ford wants to sell more cars (not to mention the government backed GM), they would lobby till car loan interest could be included in itemized deductions. Talk about improve our ecnonomy... but no the folks in Washington will keep looking in the wrong direction to help build our economy and we may never see a retread Cougar XR7!
ReplyDeleteToo bad for it. We also can't deny the development of the auto industry. With it gone soon, there might be something to replace it sooner.
ReplyDeleteWhen I heard the word cougar, something else where in my mind. Anyways, the exterior is quiet awesome. But hope to see some specifications and performance details.
